It Ended With Cheesecake

Where Did We Go?

We were starving. Was that actually the word? No, but we needed food and we needed food right away or we were going to get “hangry” and a Snickers was not going to cure it. It was then that we looked across the street and saw Bocado. Just a few blocks over from the East Side of Central Park, I highly recommend you go here in your lifetime. It was quaint, welcoming, charming and looked like the place we needed to be and it was! We were seated right near the window (which was perfect for people watching!).

We viewed the menu and I already knew I was going to have the tempting Prix Fixe Lunch specials. This choice was SUPER affordable at just $27 for all the items I chose. I was so hungry that I wanted the easiest way to food and all of the options all looked delicious! I chose the Caesar salad to start, the penne alla vodka for my entree, and for dessert…New York Cheesecake!

Bon Appetit!

Let’s be real for a moment, shall we? The Caesar salad that came out first was the following: Outstanding…Out of this world…Incredibly fulfilling! Does that paint the picture for you? It was not a side salad. No, no. It was not. As you can see, it was massive and perfectly coated in tangy Caesar dressing, complete with freshly made croutons. It was the best salad I’ve ever had.

That could have been my meal, but there was more coming my way! Next came the penne alla vodka. Oh, man. Aldente pasta, creamy sauce, and topped with grated Parmesan cheese was exactly what was needed after that salad. The portion sizes is something I have to also comment on. You’d think that for a Prix Fixe menu they’d try and skimp on the portions, especially because we were in New York City. This was absolutely NOT the case here. I ate the majority of everything I ordered. No complaints here.

And the service? I have never been anywhere (yet) that could top this place in NYC. Our servers were attentive, polite and friendly. Yet another reason why I’m featuring them.

It Really Did End With Cheesecake…

This was my first experience eating real New York cheesecake since I’ve been here. Was I already full? Heck yes!! There was certainly no way I was going to allow the opportunity to pass when it came to cheesecake. So there I sat. Waiting…for what seemed like forever. In reality though it was only about 5 minutes. It only seemed like forever because I wanted cheesecake so badly. Not just any cheesecake. THIS cheesecake.

Then it was at my table. Golden brown at the top with all of its creamy goodness in the middle and a graham cracker crust at the bottom. It was everything I was hoping for and more. Maybe a little extra, too. Take a look for yourself.

The moral of the story is, you haven’t lived if you haven’t been here in your lifetime. Between the atmosphere, service and food, you can’t go wrong!
